Saving a 1976 VW Camper

When I started this project, the motor ran good and I thought I would just clean it up best I could without pulling the motor. But at some point in the restoration, it failed to start and I took a compression check, found one cylinder reading very low. Thinking the worse, I got lucky and found a tight valve setting which when adjusted, brought the compression up and the thing started. Yea!....but then it worried me that the valve setting got tight and I knew I had to check out the heads to make sure the cause wasn't a valve seat or a stretching valve.
